Marshall Aviation Services, part of Marshall Airport Cambridge UK, has been selected as the preferred supplier to the RAF for the provision of advanced equipment designed to control Foreign Object Debris on airfields; the Aircraft Support Integrated Project Team at Royal Air Force Wyton has contracted Marshall to supply this important equipment as-and-when it is required both in the UK and in operational environments. Foreign Object Debris refers to all the loose pieces of debris which can be found on airfield ramps and taxiways, including nuts, bolts, rocks and stones. Marshall Aviation Services are the official UK distributors for the FOD Boss - a sweeper designed for collecting this debris, and therefore limiting the damage potential of FOD to aircraft, vehicles or personnel anywhere from the largest international airport to the smallest airstrip. The FOD Boss is currently in place at RAF Coningsby, RAF Marham, RAF Cottesmore and various other minor airfields. The new contract will see Marshall deliver the FOD Boss to all bases including the Falklands and RAF Leuchars over the next five years. Marshall does not only provide FOD Boss for the RAF, but also for many civil airports including Coventry, Biggin Hill, Bristol, Oxford, Stornoway, and many more.
