Marshall enhances MRO Capability with new Mustang Approval

Marshall Business Aviation has successfully achieved the full CAA approval to provide maintenance and modifications on the new Cessna Mustang aircraft, which will further complement Marshall’s renowned status as an Authorised Cessna Service Centre.

The Cessna Citation Mustang is an entry level business jet, and in standard configuration it has four passenger seats in the cabin and seating for two in the cockpit. The first production Mustang entered service in April 2007 and Cessna expects to increase production rate of the aircraft to about 150 aircraft per year by the end of 2009. Marshall has been a fully authorised Cessna Service Centre for over 35 years and therefore it is integral to Marshall’s plans for growth that the company has gained full Part 145 approval to maintain this emerging aircraft type.

During February, Marshall Business Aviation welcomed its first Cessna 510 – Mustang G-KLNW into its new state of the art maintenance facility at Cambridge which was kindly offered to Marshall Business Aviation by Klyne Air Limited and allowed Marshall engineers to gain valuable experience training on this special type of aircraft.

In charge of bringing the aircraft to Cambridge was Graham Foley from London Executive Aviation who also flew the aircraft across from Cessna’s Headquarters in Independence (Kansas, USA) into Norwich only the week before. The 15 minute flight from Norwich to Cambridge was the first internal UK flight for this brand new aeroplane. Graham was accompanied by guest pilot Nick Highton from Skydrift.
